GoTailMe is a portable surveillance detection device. It listens for the radio signals that phones and trackers leak all the time, and raises an alert when the same device keeps showing up wherever you go. It is sold as a finished, EU-made device through gotailme.com.
Smartphones constantly broadcast WiFi probe requests, and Bluetooth trackers like AirTags announce themselves to anything nearby. That leakage is usually used to track people. We turned it around: if a device is following you, it leaks too. The hard part is telling a follower apart from the hundreds of phones you pass every day.
GoTailMe sorts every sighting into four rolling time windows, from the last five minutes up to twenty minutes ago. A device that appears in several windows while you are moving earns a higher score, and that is what triggers an alert. The device is a Raspberry Pi with a monitor-mode WiFi adapter, a GPS dongle and a multitouch display, running Kismet for capture, a Go detection engine and a React dashboard.
We are extending the platform with camera nodes and LoRa mesh sensors built on Meshtastic, so alerts can travel between devices without any mobile network. Building hardware that needs a serious software side? Talk to us about AI and automation.
